Finally! Adoption Update
We finally got the news today that we have been approved by the state of Alabama as an adoptive resource. Yay! Now they will begin the process of matching us with a waiting child from the foster care system. We have put in an inquiry on a little girl and they will begin with her. They will check to see if we are a good match for her. She is 12 years old and cute as can be. This process has taken a long time and we’re not done yet, but being approved is a huge step. I am so happy. I feel like someone just told me I’m pregnant. It’s that same anticipation I had when I was expecting with my son. Thank you for all the prayers. My name is Amanda. My husband and I are just begining the process. I googled “GPS class” and found your blog. I was wondering what county you guys live in in Alabama? And do you have any suggestions about staying on top of or speading up the process? Our county doesn’t offer the GPS class for a couple of months and they will only offer the class if there are enough people interested. We came across a sibling group on adoptuskids.org that we are very interested in…. so now we just pray and wait until the classes are offered. Any suggestions???

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. The best thing we did to make things go faster was to call Alabama Pre/Post Adoption Connection (APAC). They arranged our GPS classes and home study. They are contracted through DHR, but work independently of them and it’s still no cost to you. Their website is http://www.casapac.org Hope that helps. Keep me updated!

We got placed with a beautiful 3yr old girl in May. She is beautiful and precious. It’s a bit of a legal risk but we are believing God that she will be here permanently. Good luck with GPS. Praying for you!
