Becky’s Breast Reduction- 15 days out
Well, most of the scabs are gone and everything is looking pretty good. I’m still having a few issues where the T-incision meets, on both sides. That area is the hardest to heal and it’s still a bit oozy. Nothing horrible though. I did, however, have a new complication today. It’s a very mild one, but a complication none the less. It appears I am allergic to the paper tape I’ve been using to hold my gauze in place. It has been making me red and itchy, but this morning I woke up with a water blister where the tape had been. Luckily it’s not actually on the incision. It’s a couple of inches away. The funny thing is, my doctor had me use paper tape so I wouldn’t get a tape blister. Apparently they are pretty common with the other kinds of tape, but almost no one is allergic to paper tape. Oh well, I’m always the weirdo.
I go back to the doctor next Monday and will update then. Be blessed!

Hello Becky, I had breast reduction surgery on Feb. 25th; it has been almost three weeks. I am doing well. My issue is at the T-incision and underneath I am scabby too. That is about the only irritation I have. Did you use anything on that? I was thinking of putting on Neosporin. Any ideas to help rid this sooner? Thanks!
I’ve heard online about other people using that or polysporin. My doctor has me using wet to dry dressings. You put saline solution (4 tablespoons of salt per gal.) on the gauze, cover it with another gauze so it doesn’t soak your clothes and then cover with a square of Kerlix gauze. I have to change it 3 to 4 times a day. Let me know how your healing goes.
When I had my c-section with my 3 year old the tape they used made me have blisters. I later found out that is was paper tape. When I had my tummy tuck 1 year later they used paper tape and this is when I found out that I was allergic to it. I had terrible blisters along with those terrible drains. The doctor told me to use neosporin and leave the bandages off. That was fun. You go girl! I am happy for you and getting the surgery. I thought I remembered when you were younger that you wanted to have the surgery. God Bless!!
Hi Becky, just wanting to know how your dr. appt. went. I really wish I would have found your site before I went through the surgery. I’ve read your other stuff on the reduction; I felt alot of the same way you did. I put on some Neosporin; my left breast, I think got too moist. (If that coud happen); One of the scabby things came off. I think it was a bit early for it. It looks ok now. I was a bit freaked out about it. It has been a few days since that happened; the other side looks similar to the left. I think I am ok. I was not too sure about calling the dr. It is not swollen or anything so I think it is ok. I don’t go back to the dr. until the 9th. I hope all is well with you. Thanks again for all your info. Crystal
My dr. visit went well and I actually blogged about it on here if you want to read it. He did put some neosporin on me this time after he pulled off the scabs. He said that was completely normal and everything was great. I feel alot better now that I know I’m on track. Hope you are continuing to heal well. Be blessed!

It is definitely one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself and I hope you feel the same way afterwards. I have no regrets. I will have to check out your blog. I love to read about people going through the same things I am. Once the mammogram is out of the way it’s smooth sailing from there on. Thanks for checking out my blog.
Be blessed!
